About J.P. Shadrick

J.P. Shadrick is a seasoned sports broadcaster with more than 20 years of experience spanning play‑by‑play, hosting, interviewing, podcasting, live events, and commercial voice work.

For 14 seasons, Shadrick has served as senior reporter and editor for the Jacksonville Jaguars, becoming one of the most recognizable voices across the team’s radio, digital, and television platforms. Beyond Jacksonville, he is a national radio play‑by‑play announcer for the NFL on Westwood One Sports and calls college football for the Touchdown Radio Network.

Shadrick hosts the Jaguars Radio Network’s flagship programs and has worked directly with six Jaguars head coaches: Mike Mularkey, Gus Bradley, Doug Marrone, Urban Meyer, Doug Pederson and Liam Coen. During the season, he leads “Jags HQ,” featuring weekly conversations with General Manager James Gladstone and Executive Vice President and Pro Football Hall of Famer Tony Boselli.

Shadrick also anchors “Jaguars Happy Hour” and the year‑round “Huddle Up Podcast,” contributes to “Jaguars Weekly UK” on Sky Sports NFL. He has been a primary host of Jaguars.com coverage for major offseason events, including the NFL Draft and State of the Franchise. Since 2013, he has helmed five hours of Jaguars gameday radio coverage each week - three hours pregame and two hours postgame. He originally joined the organization in 2012 as communications coordinator and sideline reporter.

For Westwood One, his NFL play-by-play assignments since 2022 include NFL London games, Thanksgiving and Christmas broadcasts, December Saturday windows, and late‑season division‑deciding matchups. In college football, he has called some of the sport’s most storied rivalries, including Ohio State vs. Michigan, Alabama vs. Auburn, and Notre Dame vs. Miami, along with the TaxSlayer Gator Bowl. On Touchdown Radio, he teams with 1992 Heisman Trophy winner Gino Torretta.

Shadrick also spent parts of five seasons with PGA Tour Entertainment, serving as an enhanced international feed announcer for broadcast partners in nearly 200 countries.

Along with his NFL and national radio work, Shadrick has local television sports anchoring experience with WJXT TV-4 in Jacksonville, college basketball play-by-play experience with Jacksonville University and the University of North Florida and men’s and women’s lacrosse play-by-play experience with JU.

He spent nine seasons in minor league baseball as a broadcaster and lead PR contact for five organizations: the Wilson Tobs, Salem Avalanche, Sioux Falls Canaries, Jacksonville Suns, and Oklahoma City RedHawks. He was named the 2008 Southern League Broadcaster of the Year and won the Oklahoma Association of Broadcasters Best Play-by-Play award in 2011. He also worked as a spotter and production assistant for CBS Sports’ SEC football coverage from 2001–09 and for Big Ten Network telecasts from 2010–11.

A graduate of the University of Alabama, Shadrick was the first radio voice of Alabama Softball from 2002–04, calling the program’s 2003 Women’s College World Series run on student radio station WVUA.

In the Jacksonville community, he has served as master of ceremonies for numerous charitable events, including the Jaguars Foundation Kickoff Luncheon, the Boselli Foundation, the American Heart Association Heart Ball, and multiple St. Michael’s Soldiers “Help Somebody” concerts. He has also volunteered with the WJCT Radio Reading Service, reading newspapers and magazines for listeners with visual impairments.

Born in Mobile, Alabama, Shadrick graduated from Hewitt-Trussville High School in Trussville, Alabama. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Telecommunication and Film from the University of Alabama in 2004.
